Hot Toddy

Whiskey is more popular. Makers Mark “Whisky” is a full-flavored bourbon with a sweet side that is
made with red winter wheat instead of the usual rye for a “one of a kind, full-flavored burbon that’s
easy to drink”.
With easy ingredients, this is quick and simple to make:
¾ cup water
1 ½ ounces whiskey
1 to 2 teaspoons honey
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 slice lemon
1 cinnamon stick
Heat the water to simmer and pour into a suitable mug. Add the whiskey, honey, and lemon juice.
Stir until the honey has blended into the mix. Garnish with lemon slice and cinnamon. Yummm!
Add more honey or lemon juice for sweetness or tang as desired.
NEW Sidecar
Easy and quick to make, this is a simple yet sophisticated cocktail. With a century of tradition, it’s
a great choice for those who prefer a dryer less-sweet beverage.
¾ ounce Cognac
1 ounce Cointreau orange liqueur
½ ounce fresh squeezed lemon juice
Lightly sugar the rim to sweeten as desired, but be careful with fruit garnish as a small amount will
dramatically change the delicate balance. Even the type of lemons can affect the flavor.
Add crushed ice into a mixer and shake well. Strain the ice and pour into a cocktail glass and there
you have it! Add more lemon juice for a bigger zing.
Brandy may be substituted for Cognac.
Historical note: the left-over portion in the mixer was how this cocktail got its name - pour into a
shot glass and there’s the sidecar!
